Incredible experience — learning to surf with Danny was so much fun!
Danny is an amazing teacher: incredibly patient, dedicated, and truly focused on helping you learn quickly while making sure you enjoy every moment. You’re standing on the board during your very first lesson!
He shares all the right techniques to avoid getting overly tired and is always there to help when you need it. By far the best surfing experience I’ve had, and the best instructor I could have hoped for.

I’ll preface this with I’ve attempted surf for many years. I’ve learned more in the past 4 days than I have in past 6 years as I was finally able to put everything together with Danny’s Coaching!
Day 1 I caught waves using 9 foot foam, day 2 I converted to 8 foot foam, day 3 I progressed to 9ft fiberglass. By day 4, for the first time in my life I was catching 3-5ft greens using the 9 ft fiberglass board completely unassisted.
Danny is seriously the absolute best!!! His detailed instruction and suggestions were spot on! And his positive attitude made every wipeout feel like nbd and every unassisted wave feel triumphant!

Danny is the best!! We have been using him as a surf guide for the past 10 years. Besides being an all around wonderful person, he works hard at keeping you safe and catching waves. Him and his staff are so motivating and fun! They took us to different surf breaks depending on our skill (some of us have none and some have some lol). Loved seeing the island with him. We can’t wait to come back to join them again! You will not be disappointed if you book through Wave Rider!

Danny is SUCH a great instructor! He is so encouraging and charismatic. He’s just excited to see you succeed! (What he won’t tell you is that he’s also won almost every surfing competition on the island).
I had never surfed before (in my mid-forties and not exactly the athletic type, haha). He was in the water with us, showing us how to look for the good waves, when to start paddling and how to stand up and balance. I was standing up and surfing in just a few tries!
At the same time, he was coaching some little cousins of ours, and he really made it easy for the kids to learn and understand. They were standing up on the waves before I was!
So much fun! Definitely worth it if you want to learn from the best guy in Barbados!

Brilliant experience, Danny is amazing at teaching, very attentive and friendly. After every surf he gives you feedback so you can improve - and he shares feedback while doing fun tricks like hand stands and flips. We fell in love with surfing thanks to Danny and can’t wait to get into the water again.
