I stopped by with a couple of friends for lunch in mid-January. The place was empty except for the owner, Augustina, who immediately encouraged us to take a seat. There was no menu available - she said she was going to make a platter for each of us. Augustina was keen to get to know us, and our familiarity with vegan food. She's also very passionate about clean eating and encouraging others to cook creatively with plant-based foods.
Our lunch was:
Yam & potato stew,
Pasta with soy protein,
Fried plantain,
Garden salad,
Rice,
Sausage,
Grain patty
This was served with a homemade tropical fruit juice and followed with a muffin made using various fruits and vegetables.
The food was fresh and light and tasted delicious. We all cleared our plates and Augustina was delighted that my non-vegan friends enjoyed all of it too!
The main, juice and muffin cost 40bbd per person

I've come to the Vegan Cottage several times and I've always had a great experience. Augustina is so passionate about vegan food and making sure that even the most avid meat-eater has a good experience. The food is freshly made everyday and based around the principles of wholefood, plant-based eating. She does add a vegan frank on top to keep people happy who are used to a bit of fake meat, but the dishes are always flawless on the flavour front! She's also a gem to chat with and will happily talk to you about her philosophy and what life is like for Bajans on the island. It's 100% worth going to Vegan Cottage, you won't regret it!

We absolutely loved the Vegan Cottage! Augustina was one of the warmest hosts I’ve ever met and we loved her attitude to food and life! She served us a delicious spread of vegan Caribbean food which was both delicious and healthy!
Highly recommend!

Amazing tasty food and amazing service! Augustina was about to close but took our family of 6 in and served us. You can tell her love for veganism and value of food. Definitely recommend eating here!

My husband and I stopped at the Vegan Cottage for lunch, and regretted not stopping by earlier during our holiday in Barbados. It was not long after we walked in and seated ourselves that the owner herself, Augustina, warmly greeted us, asked questions regarding our food preferences, and followed up by bringing us each a plate with a surprising variety of local, well-seasoned, vegan food.
From pasta, to homemade patties, lentils, rice, garbanzo beans, couscous, a bit of salad with fruit, and even a plantain, her plates offer a great variety with lots of local-inspired dishes and flavors to try.
Overall, the portion sizes were good, the prices were about 25BBDs a person, which included a muffin for dessert, and a delicious mango fruit drink, and the service and hospitality were excellent.
It was our first time at her Vegan Cottage, but Augustina made us feel like family. Her place is on Google maps, so download the offline Barbados Google map, so next time you're in the area, you can be sure to call in advance, and definitely stop by and see her.
