My shipper used Tropical Shipping to get my goods to Barbados. This was his choice. The vessel was said to always arrive in 1 week, Wednesday to Wednesday. They told the guy this, so on February 2, the goods left for Bridgetown. There were no details - shipping details, tracking # etc. Arrival times, nothing. I kept contacting my shipper for details. I was contacted by Tropical Shipping on Feb 17th with customs cost over $2k. On the day during the evening another email was sent, now with freight cost. I contacted them as they were no options to pay, I asked for banking details. I got this next day and proceeded to pay the amount given which said total cost. A day after completing payment, I received another emails with storage cost. I sent an email objecting to this fee which I thought was unreasonable. I then went to their office to collect my package and was told I had to pay the fee. I asked for someone in authority and was told to sit and wait. I did this. However, my wait seemed a bit long so I then went back to the desk for assistance and was told that everyone was in a meeting and that I needed to pay the fee. The guy sitting at the desk (Sam - the one also sending the emails) had falsely stated that there was a meeting and hence no one could see me. I repeatedly ask for a name of the person I could speak and he refused, stating that he was going to call security - I was not misbehaving, just adamantly asking for someone in authority. It was then that a lady came out and said that I had to pay. I said no to her and left. I returned a week later paid the fee which had gone up, got my package and left. Never again would I use them. No way to pay other than cash or company cheque they stated - no debit card, no credit card in thr year 2025. But AI is coming...

Friendly staff, great service, quick turn around for getting your products cleared but to have a cash only system in this day and age is not productive. Need to have point of sale transaction machines so individuals can use their cards to pay rather than ONLY cash

At least two years have elapsed since I am conducting business with Tropical Shipping. I arrive, full of confudence at Fontabelle where I last conducted business and am directed to their new home off the Mighty Gryner Highway. Immediately I am impressed with the blue and white building and still new, spacious car park. The business area is clean and comfortably airconditioned. I find the staff helpful, if not overly friendly. Even the Customs officer ( customs officers are often seen as sour and sullen) is pleasant! The young men in the cargo area spend extra time helping me load my goods and wish me a safe journey. I found the experience to be surprisingly stress free and manageable.

Fantastic Service. My first choice for shipping. Excellent Rates. Would recommend anyday to anyone. Quickest I have seen in delivering B/L to customer in the Caribbean.
