Great hotel right on the beach. Big rooms with massive balcony with giant beds (We had the garden view which was also a view of the beautiful beach and sea. The staff that work here are so helpful, friendly and cheerful it is as if they had gathered the nicest people on the island of Barbados and got them all to work in this hotel. Reception was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and they were happy to help with anything. I didn't know many of the staff by name but Richard was such a nice guy that you wanted to give him a big cuddle and Derek who worked in the restaurant and served us dinner one evening were two that made our stay feel so good. The food is good the location is second to none. Right in the centre of St Lawrence Gap with lots of bars and restaurants very close by. You have the capital, Bridgtown and Carlisle Bay 10 minutes up the road in one direction and Oistins with it's famous Fish Fry 10 minutes away in the other (get the local bus for about £1.25). Great hotel in a beautiful part of the island, lovely people here. What is not to like? Thank you Southern Palms Beach Resort. Everything was spot on. Incredible place to stay. We will be back.

Beautiful beach, excellent property grounds. Everything is expensive. No coffee in the rooms. You need to go to restaurants and pay too much for it each morning. Mattress is too hard and rooms are outdated. AC needs to be replaced in rooms. Either too cold or too hot. Makes sleeping difficult. Likely why the resort only gets a 4.4 rating. That all said, you’re in an excellent location and if it’s your first time coming to Barbados, I would recommend it. Very unlikely we will be back but happy enough with our stay.

Entertainment was great! Meal .. not so much! Part of my supper got dropped on the floor when server was setting my plate down for me. Not the correct sauce on my plate. Everyone ate their meal & I’m still waiting for my sauce. Someone came with a new piece of food to replace the piece dropped on the floor .. still no sauce. Finally, after my sister Susan went to the desk to complain, I got the sauce & ate my food. Most of it was cold since it sat there so long waiting for the dipping sauce! Then, we asked for our bills. I thought mine should have been comp free but nope .. not even a discount. When she came with the bills, she only had my sister Susan’s bill. We waited longer for our bill ! Then waited for waitress to pick up our payment. Then waited a long time again for my change! Do you think the waitress got a tip?

Best resort on the island, lots of beach space turtles galore to snorkel and watch, also swim on a nice sand bottom with some waves to play in or use the water sports, water is 83 degrees , you cannot find better! All the staff care and treat everyone as family, beach restaurant and bar is beautiful sit on the waterfront and enjoy the food and drink, I cannot explain what a joy it is to vacation there. Lots of good restaurants down the strip on the St Lawrence Gap all walking distance. Don’t miss your chance to enjoy the gem!!

Beautiful beach good WiFi throughout the hotel. Food on the expensive side waited too long to be served up to one hour even when they weren’t busy. Happy hour was good with the two for the price of one. Service charges very expensive plus daily rate. Overall would I go back? Maybe
