My wife and I had visited Sam Lords Castle 30 years ago. So we were quite shocked to see it in its current condition. The access to the look out is not marked (no signage we had to stop and ask the gate attendant to the Wyndham resort for directions) and the road to the beach is in atrocious condition. It really isn’t set up for the public to access. There is no designated parking lot, you just park your car off the road in a patch where the grass has not yet overgrown. There is public access to the beach by foot or you can drive down a steep road to the beach. Although, the road is covered in loose stones which might make it a bit tricky going back uphill. The beach is beautiful but there is a lot of seaweed washed up on shore. The waves are quite rough on this side of the island, so not for weak swimmers or children. However, at the northernmost part of the beach there is a coral wall that breaks the waves and provides a shallow area that is good for children to swim in. There is no full time life guard on duty. There are venders on the beach that sell coconuts for $5bbd. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the beach but were sad to see the historic building in such a poor state.

So this castle is right up against an all inclusive resort. Finding a place to park is a challenge, and it is simply run down. The beach is beautiful.

To access, drive towards the hotel gates, then drop off at the second set of gates on the right- small rugged parking area. Cool beach sits below it but the castle of derelict which is a shame

Historically..I hope it gets integrated with the new plans or construction they're implementing.. The beach is still accessible but not as picturesque in previous years.
