The food was not delicious and all. I asked spicy tomato pasta, and got overcooked pasta with bland sauce. Spicy sauce on the side was tobasco, which absolutely doesn’t fit to any pasta. Other guests were complaining about the quality of the food. The cocktails were not delicious as well. I think they need to change the chef because the design is beautiful.

I don’t believe the chef at this restaurant has ever been to the Caribbean. The food lacks any local ingredients and is mostly caned foods mixed with a local fish or some other meat.

Romi is in a lovely garden-like setting, but the food was not as exceptional as the surroundings. For starters, the lettuce side dish turned out to be a green salad with a vinaigrette, which was very tasty, as was the bread. The choices for the main course were somewhat limited, although relatively reasonably-priced compared to other St. Barths locations. However, we were not excited by the taste or presentation of our main courses. Then, we shared a passion fruit sorbet that was excellent but small-sized. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, but the cuisine was simply not up to the standard we were expecting.

Each dish was really good.
Presentation, flavors everything was top notch.
Chicken Nems (spring rolls in US) were delicious. Cocktails were perfect.

Such a welcome addition to the island! The setting is beautiful, the service is very attentive, and, most importantly: The food is really amazing. If you’ve never had Indonesian food before, you HAVE to try it – the flavor palette is so different to anything else, such a pleasure to discover, rich in umami, savory spices, the complex combinations of tastes, textures, temperatures… ermagerd, I’m craving it just thinking about it. You HAVE to get the grilled fish in banana leaf, you HAVE to get the smoked spring chicken, you HAVE to get the sambal selection, and the island standards like fish carpaccio and lobster are anything but standard, with their special spices.
Please, do yourself a favor and try this restaurant. It is so delicious. SBH needs this kind of food.
