Friday night fish market, one of the most intense experiences in my whole life, and I write that in a positive sense! Fantastic food, great atmosphere, locals and tourists everywhere, smoke, music, noise, colors, smell, tastes, etc, etc. All senses touched in lovely way. Highly recommend!!!

The place to be on a Friday! I got there at 5pm after seeing reviews about parking but the car park was pretty empty at that time. There was still a long queue for Pats Place though but I personally think they’re overrated. Uncle George was delicious and much better. Rum punch was strong at Oistins and loved the Mango flavour. DJ came on at 18:30 and party started an hour later.

Oistins was so much fun. The Friday Fish Fry was everything. The food was amazing. I ate at Dora and Jazzies and my husband ate at Angela's.
At Dora and Jazzies the rice and peas, wedge potatoes, coleslaw and shrimp were so delicious.
My husband does not eat seafood so thankfully Angela's had chicken kabobs. But he shared my rice and peas and potatoes.
I think our food was better than the places with long lines.
The entertainment on the stage was great and fun. The vendors selling souvenirs had decent prices.

Great vibes on a Friday night for the famous Friday Fish Fry with lots of vendors selling fish dishes with lots of sides. You can get meat dishes too but mostly fish.
Turn up and grab a table. Kinda like a food court set up where you can sit pretty much anywhere. Get there for around 5:30p to secure a good table in front or near the stage. Expect lots of people and busy crowds but the vibe is great. We ended up leaving before the live music came on but was still really enjoyable.
There was a HUGE queue for Pat’s Place which seems to be very well known but there are lots of other good places so maybe don’t just follow the crowd. We went to Chillin and Grillin. The food was very tasty and a decent price.
Definitely worth checking out if you’re visiting. You can jump on a bus or take a taxi and as it’s a bit out of the way from where most tourists stay.

If you're in Barbados on a Friday there is absolutely no reason for you to not be at the Friday Fish Fry as this should be a high priority of things to do while visiting. Tons of tourists and locals alike venture here for incredibly delicious local foods from a large amount of vendors while listening to great music for the last 30 years. There's also rows of vendors that sell various items to take back home with you.
I would suggest getting there early to get a table to have someone in your group scout out seats while others order and wait for food. There is also a similar event on Sundays if you miss out of the full Friday experience.
