Mell’s is a real gem - very glad we found it toward the end of our stay. True to its name, it’s in a very secluded location, down a rutted dirt road past fields and cows. But once you arrive, Mell gives you a very warm welcome. It’s important to note: you have to call/WhatsApp ahead to place your order! We made a mistake and just showed up one day with no advance warning, but Mell kindly invited us to come back the following evening. She will give you a few options for food based on what’s available / in-season. We had the grilled lambí (conch) and curried shrimp, both delicious and served with a variety of tasty sides, all fresh and made to order. This is Saint Lucian home-style cooking, much better than the overpriced food served at the nearby resorts and restaurants! Price was reasonable at 19 USD per person. We also had a really nice time chatting with Mell over dinner - she knows a lot about the history of the area. Highly recommend this spot if you’re in the Marigot Bay area!

During our study trip to Saint Lucia, we had the chance to meet an exceptional provider with whom we immediately hooked up. Beyond his professionalism, it is his endearing personality, his humor and his good humour that have marked our entire group. She prepared and delivered our meals throughout our entire stay, always with care, generosity and special attention for each of us. Each dish was delicious, and one could really feel the love she puts in her kitchen. We stumbled upon mell's and it was the highlight of our vacation on st. Lucia!! Mell and Lionel were the nicest people in the world!! Food was wonderful!! Suggest you call ahead so they know you are coming. Jon and Leslie
