What a wonderful art gallery! I spent two weeks in Martinique searching for shops where I could find authentic, handmade, and high-quality art objects.
It was by happy chance that I stumbled upon Karib’ Design. There, I discovered everyday objects transformed into unique and original pieces. Jewelry, tableware, decorative items, plant pots: the prices are affordable and accessible. Everyone can leave with a little piece of Caribbean culture.
Far from being just a shop, this gallery is also a place of learning where various creative arts courses are offered by passionate and engaging instructors. It is also, to my knowledge, the only place that promotes, revitalizes, and showcases the indigenous artistic and cultural heritage of the Isle of Flowers.
I had the pleasure of speaking with Regina, president of Karib’cultur, the organization that gave rise to Karib’ Design. She explained the association’s mission and its community involvement.
Regina also recommended we visit the exhibition “At the Origins of the Caribbean: Taíno & Kalinago” at the Clément Foundation. This wonderful exchange at Karib’cultur made our visit to the exhibition even more meaningful and greatly increased our interest. What a delight it was to have purchased our little Adornos from Karib’Design and then see them in their original form at the exhibition! A partnership would undoubtedly be a success.
Finally, thank you to Karib’Design for offering its visitors such authenticity, expertise, and passion in passing on this often-forgotten heritage.

We had a wonderful time at the Karib'cultur clay workshop. We can't wait to go back after our pieces are fired.
A lovely parent-child creative workshop, full of discoveries and sharing.
Thank you to Kia for your kindness.
See you soon!

A wonderful discovery! Two young employees took the time to explain the association's mission (to promote Amerindian culture, a component of Martinican identity), and to present the artworks and activities offered. The place is beautiful, peaceful, and conducive to creativity.
We purchased a few items to decorate our homes and to keep as souvenirs of this lovely cultural experience.

The Kalinago people would be proud of this place, which perpetuates their culture and reminds us that Martinique is both unique and multifaceted. For a journey through time, where the Amerindian-inspired objects on offer pay homage to Caribbean heritage, Karib' Cultur also offers a warm welcome. Bravo to the association and all those who bring it to life.
