Great Exuma

This is definitely the best place to stay in Exuma. The location is stunning and the resort truly feels like an oasis on an island that is still not very developed. The private beach is beautiful, with crystal clear blue water, and the villas are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The staff were wonderful, always friendly, helpful and welcoming. They also make it easy to organize activities. Do not miss the Exuma Water Sports half day tour, it was a highlight of our trip. A couple of things could be improved. For the price, breakfast should really be included, and the restaurant options could be stronger. Overall, we highly recommend staying here if you visit Exuma, as other options on the island can be limited. Three to four days is the ideal length of stay, enough time to fully relax and explore without feeling restricted.

I strongly recommend not staying at this resort because the service is so bad. Bartenders Derek and Travis should not be customer facing. They are so mean to me and other customers. They also ignore customers and avoid providing service. Their attitude is terrible. Will NEVER return. Too many other resort options to go to a place this bad.

Visited Grand Isle Resort & Residences during a stay in Exuma, and it was one of the most well-rounded experiences on the island. The property is located in Emerald Bay, about a short drive from the airport, and the arrival already sets the tone—warm, efficient, and very personalized. Staff welcomed us by name and offered a welcome drink, which is always a good sign of attention to detail. The villas are spacious and fully equipped (kitchen, living areas, large bedrooms), making it feel more like a private residence than a hotel. Ideal for longer stays or families. Everything was very well maintained, and the views are excellent. Beach at Emerald Bay is one of the highlights—wide, quiet, and with that signature Exuma turquoise water. The resort also has both a family pool and an adults-only pool, which works well. Dining options are solid: one more refined restaurant and another more casual, both with good quality and service. The spa is worth trying if you’re staying a few days. A big plus is the golf cart provided—it makes it easy to move around the property and nearby areas. Concierge service is efficient and can organize boat or catamaran excursions. Highly recommend doing one—sandbanks and nearby cays are a must in Exuma. Small detail but memorable: excellent cucumber gin & tonic at the bar. Overall, what stands out is the sense of space, privacy, and flexibility. You can fully disconnect and move at your own pace. Would definitely recommend for travelers looking for a more relaxed, residential-style luxury experience in Exuma.

An amazing resort without the typical resort feel. Every employee we interacted with were kind and a pleasure to be around. The food and drinks were excellent and the beach was clean and very accessible. Highly recommend and we are excited for our next trip back.

Fabulous resort! Quiet, 2 pools, lovely beach with shade options, poolside restaurant plus an additional nicer restaurant. Gift shop, golf options, walking paths, fitness room, spa and more. The units are very well equipped, and nice. The employees are very kind and helpful. A good vacation spot for couples or families.
