Most underrated place to eat on the island. I think it was the best place I ate at. It was just one sole person in the kitchen, she took our order and the wait was not terrible. The food was savory and well worth the price in my opinion, and a plus that they are open going into the evening. I would recommend this to anyone a million times over

We had a delicious and unexpectedly entertaining dinner last night. First the food: we had been on island for a week already, but the tomatoes used for the bruschetta appetizer (and subsequent tomato sauce) were the best we had seen all week. Fresh basil brought sharp freshness to the appetizer and mains as well. The mains were superb: fresh grilled mahi mahi and marlin, each on a bed of pasta. **chefs kiss** Igal - the proprietor, chef, and host - was so fun. Entertaining, passionate about food, and as international as the plated dishes. We sat outside and took in the busy streetscape where there was always something to watch. Wouid recommend!

We were visiting Barbados on a cruise and looking for a place to eat when we came across Café à la Mer online and decided to give it a try. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the owner. The café is small and intimate, and we chose to sit outside. We ordered an appetizer, a salad, and two entrées, along with wine and beer, and finished the meal with an incredible apple pie dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious. When it came time to pay, I pulled out my credit card and was informed they only accept cash. I immediately panicked as we only had $115 in cash and our bill came to $150 USD. Olivia, who was waiting on us, quickly contacted the owner and explained the situation. After a bit of quick thinking, they spoke with a neighboring business, who kindly agreed to process our credit card on the restaurant’s behalf. The food was outstanding, and the owner’s willingness to help was a huge relief, though I was completely embarrassed. In a worst-case scenario, my partner would have gone back to the ship to get more cash, but thankfully it did not come to that. I do think it would be helpful if the restaurant clearly noted that they are a cash-only establishment, as I have never encountered a restaurant that does not accept credit cards, especially in a tourist area.

We were on the beach just behind this place and saw the reviews so decided to go for lunch, the food was so good and lived up to the reviews. We had a shrimp wrap and a fish wrap which wasn’t on the menu but written on a board inside. We would have definitely gone again if we were staying in the area. 100% recommend :)

The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish and exceeded all expectations. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor, and you can truly feel the passion behind the cooking. The chef went above and beyond to make sure my friend and I had an amazing experience and made us feel genuinely welcome. The atmosphere was lovely, the service attentive, and everything felt very personal. Easily one of the best dining experiences we had in Barbados. 10/10 would definitely come again.
