Just a 20 minute taxi ride to the airport I stayed here by my self and felt very safe. The staff are super friendly and very helpful when carrying your luggage to your room. I stayed on the top floor and wow the view was incredible.

Checked in Christmas Eve, given room key, carried our luggage up three flights of stairs due to no elevator. Upon entering the room, it was already occupied by other guests. Staff had no idea what was going on. We were then given a ground floor room instead. No help getting our luggage back down the stairs. Then realised aircon was not working in the room. Back to reception and was told they knew it wasn’t working and that a technician had been called to install a new unit if it couldn’t be fixed. Unpacked whilst waiting for aircon man, and did food shopping to fill the fridge for Christmas. Waited outside our room for two hours whilst the aircon unit was fixed. Once done, entered the bathroom for a shower, noticed water all over the floor. Looked up and water is coming through the ceiling. Back to reception, in fairness the lady at reception did upgrade us, but we then had to re pack everything, including all the contents of the fridge, and move ourselves with no help to another room. What a great Christmas Eve we had! In fairness, we were given a complimentary meal due to the issues above; however, the waiters delivered a starter that I did not order, and when we ordered rib eye steak, we were not even asked how we wanted these cooked. When the main meal arrived, the steaks were overcooked, the potatoes were very hard and undercooked, as was the veg. That was our Christmas Eve! In our room, the aircon unit is placed on the wall above our heads where we slept. Woke up to a raging headache and neck pain because of this. The pillows were also so high and thick, that I spent the whole time sleeping with two rolled up beach towels instead to avoid further neck pain. Every time we showered, water ran all over the floor, we asked for more floor towels to manage this, but we were always given one tiny one. The water was often cold to tepid - no temperature control at all. The oven in the room was not fit for purpose - again, so very very old, only three rings worked on the top, and the oven temp had no working temperature regulation. Forget getting sunbeds on the beach unless you want to set your alarm for 6:30am each morning. Never seen anything like it in terms of customers hogging beds. Around the pool, one family alone took up most of pool beds early each morning. Second to last day, we did set an alarm for 7am - no beds available! I mean, who wants to set alarms on holiday and why don’t the hotel do something about this, and stop people from leaving their stuff on the beds all day regardless of whether they are using the beds or not. I wouldn’t stay here again. It’s a shame, because the grounds and location are lovely, especially being right next to the beach. In fairness, I cannot fault the staff here, they have all been very lovely, and I feel for them having to deal with all the issues that should be solved by the owners!

Stayed there in April 2025. Great location with shops within walking distance and a room overlooking the pool and beach. Cooker, kettle, fridge, microwave and toaster in the room. I was surprised that there was no complimentary tea or coffee in the room as with other hotels in Barbados. You have to buy/bring your own. No welcome drink on arrival at reception or in the room. WiFi was poor and had to keep logging on a few times a day. Interior room decor definitely needs updating; old furniture, cracks in floor tiles, bathroom sink etc. I was on the third floor but the lift didn't work. Apparently it hadn't been working for over a month. No menus in room for room service. Ordered an omelette but it was quite small and basic in comparison to other hotels I have stayed at in Barbados. The evening meal was good though. The security deposit is 350 BDS.

Our recent stay at Blue Orchids Beach Hotel was an absolute delight. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, providing a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring. The private balcony provided a serene space to enjoy the beautiful ocean vistas. We also appreciated the convenience of having a variety of amenities nearby, including shops and restaurants. Overall, our experience at Blue Orchids Beach Hotel was fantastic. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a relaxing and enjoyable beach vacation.

The worse hotel we have have ever been too. The elevator didn’t work so we had to drag our suitcases up four flights of stairs. The ground floor room offered instead did not have much of a view and felt tucked in a corner but we were told it’s an “upgrade” to the higher floor. The front desk person was beyond rude and unwelcoming. She did not walk us to any of the rooms we were offered for checking in. Instead passed the keys and pointed the way which was unfamiliar to us and not accessibility friendly. When we mentioned our dissatisfaction, she thought it best to argue with us. I believed her name was Amanda. No apologies were given. The bed is not well set up. It has the flattest pillows and “king” bed of two twin bed pushed together. The bathroom toilet is super noisy after being flushed. The kitchenette is poorly done as well with shabby looking appliances. The wifi is terrible as well. And were not even given a note of welcome wifi info etc. The overall infrastructure is deteriorating. We give this 0/5 stars. Would not recommend. The worst customer service and overall experience ever. Not worth the listed price. Do not book here.
