The service at this clinic leaves much to be desired. The culture is not patient-friendly and often appears insensitive to patient needs. The initial meeting with the doctor was unpleasant, though he demonstrated considerable knowledge and was able to resolve a long-standing complaint, which is why we decided to proceed with his services. However, the day of the first surgery was a disappointment. It seemed the surgical team was unprepared, particularly due to the failure to complete necessary tests, such as determining the age of the cataract. As a result, the doctor had to perform an alternate procedure, which he was unprepared for. There was a lack of due diligence—the required lens was not on-site, and necessary medication was unavailable, as the pharmacy was closed. The cataract was removed, but no replacement lens was implanted because none was available. It took four and a half months for the eye to heal before the correct lens could be implanted, which came at an additional cost to the patient. Since then, the healing process has been long and uncomfortable. With visits monthly to which no one looked forward too. Finally reached the day where the stitches could be removed, during that visit, the doctor yelled at the patient for blinking, an involuntary action, saying, "Keep quiet!" His attitude was discouraging, and not all stitches were removed in that visit, requiring further appointments. This type of behavior occurred during the surgery as well! The clinic can run behind schedule, which i believe is due too over scheduling on the part of the receptionists. Without consideration of the patient circumstances, health concerns, or the fact that caregivers, such as those assisting their parents, may need to return to work in a timely manner. Of course no apology is offered for the delay. However, if a patient is late, the appointment is rescheduled. If you need short-term care or have a simple case, this doctor may be an affordable option. However, if your case is complex or requires ongoing care, be aware that he can be short-tempered and intolerant, especially when inconvenienced. His behavior may cause a patient to feel neglected or even mistreated. If bedside manner is important to you, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

I can’t say thank you enough to Dr. Don-Eyre Beckles and his staff. I got an eye infection while visiting the island. I was scared and a long way from home. He calmed me and gave me the appropriate treatment. When I arrived home two days later, my doctor said I was well on my way to recovery because of the treatment I received. In fact, he had me continue the same treatment. Thank you thank you.
